Installative performance, 2024-2026
What would you do, if a magical ship promising to fulfill any wish sailed across the night sky and landed at your window? What if that granted wish turned out to be a curse?
In 2021, a container ship named “Ever Given” ran aground in the Suez Canal in Egypt and led to a six-day disruption in global supply chains. Some seemingly unrelated, haunting memories along this waterway—which threads through Asia, Africa, and Europe—were reawakened by the incident, whispering us back more than half a century.
Using sound and objects as mediums to connect memories, and myths and folktales as vessels for humanity’s desires, this performance seeks to trace and reflect upon our promised worlds—those yet to come, those that have been delayed, and those that have long since been miscarried. It invites an embodied imagination of global infrastructure, its history, and its future.
